Welcome to the Akron-Westfield Community School District Website. Akron-Westfield Community School District is located on the Western edge of Plymouth County, Iowa. Our total DK-12 student population is around 600 students.

🗳️ During the last legislative session, a law was passed adding a second enrollment count date for schools.
💲 School funding is figured off of this information, so it is very crucial for our budget.
✅ Our school year calendar was approved before the law was passed so we, and many other schools across Iowa, are making small adjustments to our school calendar. This will ensure we continue to receive full funding for students who graduate mid year, as we always have.
📢 Here are the changes that were made: *Last day of the first semester is now Friday, January 15. *Full day of in-service is now Monday, January 18. No school for students. *First day of the second semester is now Tuesday, January 19.

AW students attended the WEC Leadership Conference at Northwestern College, where they explored the five pillars of champions: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. The event encouraged students to lead by example and put these values into action in their classrooms, on their teams, and throughout their communities.
